According to Romans 10:9-10, 17 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Spiritual Growth: Wherfore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings. As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

Biography
Mother Margaret Elizabeth Powell is a senior mother in Zion and a servant of the Lord. Mother Powell was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 17 in 1945 under the ministry and leadership of her parents the late Elder John Calvin Pellum and the late Mother Elizabeth Borom Pellum. Elder Pellum was a pioneering pastor of the first Church Of God In Christ in Idlewild, Michigan in 1929. Mother Powell has witnessed first hand God's healing and delivering power under her father's ministry.
She received her evangelist missionary license in the Churches Of God In Christ, Inc. in 1966 under the late Bishop C. J. Johnson and the late Mother Mary Jane Hopkins in Northeast Michigan First Historic Jurisdiction. She assisted her father in every area of the gospel ministry. She has worked on the local and state level serving as a District Missionary under the leadership of Superintendent Leonard Neely, Jurisdictional Bishop P. A. Brooks, and Mother Mary Jane Hopkins.
She graduated from Northeast Michigan College of Practical Nurses, Traverse City, Michigan in 1961. She attended Ferris State Universtiy, Big Rapids, Michigan in 1965, and was later appointed U. S. Postmaster in Idlewild, Michigan in 1967. In addition to her formal secular education she has religious training in the following:
- The Michigan Sheriff's Association Corrections Chaplaincy Course, 1983
- Evangelism Explosion-Elder Elmer Hess, Sr., Battle Creek, Michigan, 1986
- "Be Successful in Your Ministry"-External Department/International Seminary, Plymouth, Florida, 1988
Mother Powell is a prophetess, a seasoned prayer warrior and intercessor. She is a certified associate Chaplain for jail and prison ministry in Michigan and Oklahoma. She is the founder of the Abaundant Life Church Of God In Christ Intercessory Prayer Network.
Mother Powell's experience includes "Off Campus Advisor" for the Youth Ambassadors for Christ, Ferris State University, 1974, where she touched the lives of many young people through revivals and counseling. She has worked in the ministry of home bound, home and foreign missions, vacation bible school, Sunday school, and in other church auxiliaries with an emphasis on women's ministries through retreats, workshops and seminars.
Mother Powell feels favored by God and counts it an honor and a blessing to touch many lives throught the power of effectual and fervent intercessory prayer. Through the prayer ministry God has blessed tremendously, bringing salvation, healing and deliverance to many souls. Mother Powell's home phone has been used as a prayer hotline 24 hours a day 7 days a week to provide the word of life, faith and healing to souls in desperate need. God's word is always spoken throught the anointing of the Holy Ghost to reach souls in need of Him.
Mother Powell's work has expanded to minister in other countries. In 1983, she traveled to St. Thomas, Jamaica with State Supervisor, Mother Julia Burton and attend the Women's State Convention of the Churches Of God In Christ. She also traveled with her son, Dr. James Powell Jr., D.D. to Bangkok, Thailand in 1991 to visit her spiritual daughter Ekvadee Piysombatkul and to minister there in the churches.
Mother Powell feels that as believers and servants of God our presence should always be felt and make a difference bringing Glory to God. To this end she works continually and faithfully in an effort to prepare souls for the imminent return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
She is the mother of three children; Pastor Dr. James W. Powell, Jr. D.D., Pastor Christopher M. Powell and Evangelist Yvonne Powell, an anointed speaker and Gospel Soloist.
Mother Powell on December 28, 2007 recieved an award as "Prayer Warrior of the Year" by Bishop Marvin C. Pryor, Prelate and Mother Earlie Pepper, Supervisor of Michigan Southwest Third Jurisdiction of the Church Of God In Christ in Saginaw, Michigan.
